  71. Compressor:
  72.  
  73. Load the example effects bank provided for some starting points. (If you
  74. have not used a compressor/limiter before, I would first suggest a quick 
  75. search on the Web for one of the many good articles out there on the use 
  76. of compression. A compressor properly used will give your music a polished 
  77. professional feel: but use too much compression and it will squeeze the 
  78. life out of your mix)
  79.  
  80. This compressor features the "standard" controls as found on most
  81. compressors: threshold, compress ratio, attack/decay times and output
  82. level. It is a hard-knee compressor using peak level detection when 
  83. attack=0 mS, and RMS level detection for any non-zero attack time.
  84.  
  85. Note: with extreme settings (short attack & delay times combined with low 
  86. threshold and high compression) the compressor may sound like it is 
  87. distorting. This is NOT a fault, but rather a characteristic of software 
  88. compressors, which can react to input signals far quicker than hardware 
  89. compression. Simply increase the attack/delay time, raise the threshold or 
  90. lower the compression ratio until you get the desired effect.

  92. Tempo & Sweep Delay:
  93.  
  94. Load the example effects banks & change the "Tempo" parameter to match 
  95. your song tempo. Start by running a simple audio riff through the 
  96. effects to see how the PlugIns work : a simple 4/4 drum loop is best 
  97. to start with. Fiddle with the parameters, experiment and have fun. 
  98.  
  99. Tremelo:
  100.  
  101. Load the example effects bank supplied for some ideas. You will get best
  102. results with Pre-fade switched ON and the channel volume fader turned down
  103. (so you can only hear the effect output).
  104.  
  105. If you don't want to use Pre-fade, the Tremelo output can still be 
  106. boosted to +6dB louder than the input signal. This means that even with 
  107. Pre-fade OFF, you can still balance your mix so you can hear the tremelo 
  108. effect over the original signal. If the effect distorts, simply back off on 
  109. your levels a little.
  110.  
  111. Try using slow (less than 0.5Hz) tremelo and pan frequencies to get some
  112. interesting random auto-panning effects.
  113.  
  114. General:
  115.  
  116. Some users have commented that it is difficult to accurately set a value
  117. using the VST effects dial. The technique is as follows: click on the dial, 
  118. then move the pointer further away from the dial (while holding down the 
  119. button). The further away from the dial the pointer is, the more accurate 
  120. the control.

  129. Essentially a straight replacement for the standard VST Stereo Echo,
  130. but with tempo based editing. Instead of specifying delay in mS, 
  131. dimply dial in your song tempo and measure (eg 1/4 beat). The plugin 
  132. works out the delay time for you.

  134. Two independent delay channels with programmable pan, feedback, delay
  135. (in measures) and level.
  136.  
  137. 2 second max delay time (per channel) @ 44.1kHz sample rate (or 1.83
  138. seconds @ 48kHz).

  141. on my Pentium 200MMX)

  147. Single channel delay (using tempo based editing as above) with 
  148. programmable auto-panning of the delay channel.

  150. Can also be used as a simple single-channel echo with programmable pan
  151. position (set "mod width" = 0)

  153. Auto-panning range 0.01 - 20.0 Hz.
