- New in V2.00
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- o New Tremelo plugin added. Details below.
-
- o All plugins now accept program names up to 35 characters long
-
- o Pentium lockup problem solved in Sweep & Tempo Delay. (A known problem
- which could cause the processor load to increase significantly when
- crunching small numbers, making it appear as though VST has locked up)
-
- o Improved resolution of auto-pan frequency in Sweep Delay.
-
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Note for existing V2.00 users
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- The Tremelo, Tempo Delay & Sweep Delay in this release are identical to
- V2.00. Any program banks saved from V1.00 or V2.00 of the plugins will
- still work with this release.
-
- Please also note the revised license and disclaimer at the end of this file.

- User notes
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Compressor:
-
- Load the example effects bank provided for some starting points. (If you
- have not used a compressor/limiter before, I would first suggest a quick
- search on the Web for one of the many good articles out there on the use
- of compression. A compressor properly used will give your music a polished
- professional feel: but use too much compression and it will squeeze the
- life out of your mix)
-
- This compressor features the "standard" controls as found on most
- compressors: threshold, compress ratio, attack/decay times and output
- level. It is a hard-knee compressor using peak level detection when
- attack=0 mS, and RMS level detection for any non-zero attack time.
-
- Note: with extreme settings (short attack & delay times combined with low
- threshold and high compression) the compressor may sound like it is
- distorting. This is NOT a fault, but rather a characteristic of software
- compressors, which can react to input signals far quicker than hardware
- compression. Simply increase the attack/delay time, raise the threshold or
- lower the compression ratio until you get the desired effect.
-
- Tempo & Sweep Delay:
-
- Load the example effects banks & change the "Tempo" parameter to match
- your song tempo. Start by running a simple audio riff through the
- effects to see how the PlugIns work : a simple 4/4 drum loop is best
- to start with. Fiddle with the parameters, experiment and have fun.
-
- Tremelo:
-
- Load the example effects bank supplied for some ideas. You will get best
- results with Pre-fade switched ON and the channel volume fader turned down
- (so you can only hear the effect output).
-
- If you don't want to use Pre-fade, the Tremelo output can still be
- boosted to +6dB louder than the input signal. This means that even with
- Pre-fade OFF, you can still balance your mix so you can hear the tremelo
- effect over the original signal. If the effect distorts, simply back off on
- your levels a little.
-
- Try using slow (less than 0.5Hz) tremelo and pan frequencies to get some
- interesting random auto-panning effects.
-
- General:
-
- Some users have commented that it is difficult to accurately set a value
- using the VST effects dial. The technique is as follows: click on the dial,
- then move the pointer further away from the dial (while holding down the
- button). The further away from the dial the pointer is, the more accurate
- the control.

- Specifications
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Tempo Delay
- ===========
-
- Essentially a straight replacement for the standard VST Stereo Echo,
- but with tempo based editing. Instead of specifying delay in mS,
- dimply dial in your song tempo and measure (eg 1/4 beat). The plugin
- works out the delay time for you.
-
- Two independent delay channels with programmable pan, feedback, delay
- (in measures) and level.
-
- 2 second max delay time (per channel) @ 44.1kHz sample rate (or 1.83
- seconds @ 48kHz).
-
- Consumes same processor load as standard VST Stereo Echo (as benchmarked
- on my Pentium 200MMX)
-
-
- Sweep Delay
- ===========
-
- Single channel delay (using tempo based editing as above) with
- programmable auto-panning of the delay channel.
-
- Can also be used as a simple single-channel echo with programmable pan
- position (set "mod width" = 0)
-
- Auto-panning range 0.01 - 20.0 Hz.
-
- 4 second max delay time @ 44.1kHz sample rate (or 3.66 seconds @ 48kHz).
-
- Consumes less processor load than the standard VST Stereo Echo (as
- benchmarked on my Pentium 200MMX)
-
- Tremelo
- =======
-
- Combined Tremelo and Auto-panner multi-effect.
-
- Two independent modulators for tremelo & pan.
-
- Choose from sine/square/triangle/saw modulator waveforms.
-
- Square & saw waveforms are slightly "rounded off at the edges", providing
- a more musical waveform (no nasty clicks).
